Rainfall Causing Muddy Conditions for Farmer Workers and Farmers
The above average rainfall this season has been a great thing for everyone in California, especially farmers. Although the drought is officially over, the rainfall also brought about some complications as well. Apart from floods and swarms of bugs, the rainfall created muddy conditions for farmers and farm workers. Kings County Supervisor and walnut grower, Doug Verboon, stated:
It’s difficult to make someone work in the rain or the mud, but we work around it and find something else to do in the shop when it’s too wet to be in the field.
No one wants to work in mud, but luckily farmers are able to work around the muddy areas until warmer conditions are able to dry up the wet areas.
Hopefully the muddy conditions do not cause too many issues for farm workers before the rain is able to dry up in muddy areas.
