Nonprofit Organization helps Agricultural Industry with Safety and Regulation Compliance
Agsafe moved last month into a larger building within Modesto, which is a good sign that the organization is doing very well. Agsafe is a 501c3 nonprofit that was formed in 1991 to help the agricultural industry with safety and regulation compliance at the state and federal levels. Agsafe’s mission is to provide education and resources to the farm and food industries to further their commitment to a safe and sustainable workforce and a safe and sustainable food supply. Farm Bureau Executive Director Wayne Zipser stated,
[AgSafe] provides expertise in farm safety, and I think that has been more of a focus over the last several years. Making sure the farm workers are safe in their environment… that the business owners have an avenue for compliance; they are fulfilling their obligations to farm safety.
The organization has expanded its services to other states over the years and it’s a great resource to use for companies in the agricultural industry that do not have a human resources department. Agsafe works with 14 other agencies at both the federal and states levels to provide low cost resources and explain laws for free.
It’s a good thing that there are organizations like this to help companies that could otherwise not afford the type of services that would keep them compliant with safety and regulations.
